well as being an european(the netherlands)and since we have a solid dance base over here with a broad selection of genres i’d like to say artists instead of songs.
underworld(born slippy)is a must be, ellen alien, miss kitten, daft punk(confirmed i read?), felix the housecat, kraftwerk. these and more would definitely make a good selection for mainstream gamers without being too harsh or freaky to hear…
wich i’d prefer to see on the more harder dancesongs are altern8(oldskool ^^) venetian snares and alike, autechre, angerfist, aphrodite, roni size, dillinja, goto 80. but most of these probably won’t make it. except for maybe roni size, if there will be the genre drum and bass…i think it should be since there’s a lot of djing in drum’n'bass and it’s still a massive genre in the u.k.(dubstep taking a bit over)

anyway, depending on wich songs will be in the final version i’m buying or not.if it’s just mainstream songs i’m not buying the game…

Some tracks by The Prodigy would make sense and be awesome….they just released the biggest electronic album of the decade “Invaders Must Die” and it would help boost sales of the game, especially in Britain where they are massive (5 straight number 1 albums). Also some Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx and Pendulum would be great.

I would also love some team battle ****. Put up a C2C routine in there, and I’ll buy this game for everyone on Christmas.

Since Shadow is working on this, how about some Camel Bobsled Race?

There had better be some Wave Twisters tracks on there, or I’ll be upset.

honestly, for this game to be really successfull (because when i heard about this i thought, “cool, we’ll be able to mix some good trance”) there should be no such thing as a setlist. I think you should be able to upload songs onto the game from your console. then the game just reads the songs, and mixes them to the best of its ability. kinda the same concept as “audiosurf”, but well, it would be difficult, but im sure its possible. if that solution doesnt work, then there should most definetaly be a techno/elektro/trance version of dj hero.

I totally agree with “blah’s” comment. This game should have more house, trance, hardstyle, drum & bass, psychedelic trance, etc.

I admit they have to include mainstream songs to have more people buying their product, but they shouldn’t base the WHOLE game into pure mainstream songs.

As a HUGE electronic music fan, I am very disappointed that DJ Hero left us, the true electronic music fans, out of the picture. So, I’m gonna hold my desire to put my hands on that turntable and just wait until they make a trance package (a Paul Van Dyk one or at least something that is more like electronic music) just like Guitar Hero has the Beatles and Metallica one.

Why oh why does a DJ music game have more Rock music in it than Trance? You’d think a game endorsed by Paul Oakenfold might have something like that!

Get Chicane in there, BT, Hybrid

But I can bet the producers will be a bunch of cheap SOBs and simply throw in a load of duplicate tracks already available on Guitar Hero and Rock band for the simple fact it’ll line their pockets a lot quicker than giving dance music fans what they want!

Hell, even people into their hip-hop beats- give them some decent old-skool funk, which most the hip-hop and rap stuff these days seems to sample.

Activision needs to make seperate game titles for DJ Hero like New School Hip-Hop/R&B ,Old School Hip-Hop/R&B, House/Techno and release the current setlist on CD for purchase. They should do track packs in different styles, we have the david guetta pack, which has 2 very popular mixes/songs in them. Maybe they could look into the dance scene in different countries, I’m from the netherlands myself and here Hardcore and Hardstyle are very popular. Maybe they can do something by artists like Tatanka, Headhunterz, Technoboy, and D-block & S-te-fan (Youtube search does miracles!)

But i’m sure there are much more popular styles in the other countries/territories… Just hope they will do a harder styles pack, or even a complete DJ Hero: Hardstyle edition.

Definitely needs a lot more trance - when I think “DJ”, immediately thoughts of Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Dave Pearce, Airbase, Vincent De Moor, Signum, Paul Van Dyk, Sash! and Matt Darey come to mind. I just played it, yes the tracks on this game are kinda a disappointment, but they cannot please everyone. it still is pretty cool.
But I really do think that if its called DJ hero, it should have more ACTUAL DJ CULTURE IN IT. Drum n bass, DUBSTEP would be sick (plenty of remixes “mainstreamers” would recognize).Oldschool hip hop, rap, house, breaks, trance, turntablism.

Later make a version where you could upload your own songs. I love rock, buuuut ROCK ALREADY HAS A GAME, rock should stay out of DJ hero.

and yes Drum and Bass or turntablism would be on the expert level without a doubt.

where’s the turn-tablism? and what’s with all this mainstream i wanna sell a game **** music.
I would buy the game if there’d be a good selection of proper music.
there’s tons of music that should be in (which is not there, and there’s tons of music which is there but does not deserve to be there)

Throw out the **** commercial hip hop, replace it by old school stuff, and what’s with the fake electro and techno, where’s dubstep?

i really would love to see more diversity, like this.

Electro, justice, boys noize, underworld, zombie nation, the bloody beetroots, digitalism? idc.
minimal, start with something everyone digs like booka shade, then throw in some stuff like radio slave, kiko, or even some more commercial minimal like deadmau5, and ofc stuff along the lines of UMEK.
where’s dubstep: burial, zombie,benga, dj rupture? they all deserve a spot.

How about more of a blend of hip-hop and dance/techno? Wiz Khalifa made a killer hit in “Say Yeah.” Why not get some Darude - Sandstorm crossed with a Kanye or Lil Wayne song? Pjanoo is a good versatile dance track too, I wouldn’t complain if I got more of that, too.

Ok, I like the selection of songs on there already, but there is definitely room for improvement; scatter about songs from the album “hard to earn” as well as the track “who’s gonna take the weight” by gang starr; the message, and rappers delight by grandmaster flash and the furious 5; put in protect ya neck and other songs by wu tang clan; 1-800-suicide and ego trip (trippin’) by the gravediggaz, how I can just kill a man by cypress hill, deep cover by dr. Dre and snoop dogg, the choice is yours (revisited) by the black sheep, alive and get it together by the beastie boys, check out what is on the anthology album of a tribe called quest, and definitely I left my wallet in el segundo and luck of lucien, fu-gee-la by the fugees, smack that by akon, d.original by jeru tha damaja, and a childrens story by slick rick, I’m sure there are more, but I don’t wanna make the ppl who read this bored, and a comment, no lil’ wayne, gucci mane, or waka flocka, thank you

The tracklist should be a MIX. Like dertoit house, hip hop, old skool hiphop & r&b, dance/techno. Not just sticking to one specific genre. That is what a DJ does, he mixes. If u want top 40 turn on the radio. Wayne, Lady GaGa, Beyonce etc are played enough on the radio, we dont need to hear them on a game too.

Yeah… Need a bit more modern stuff, too much Rap/Hip hop and Rock in DJ Hero, i mean, Foo fighters Monkey wrench? I love that song but it REALLY does not suit being in DJ Hero! Even a mix of it! Rihanna Disturbia? What the hell?!?! Tiesto would be amazing, Daft Punk is unquestionable, Pendulum would be mean too. Needs more prgressive trance/club/techno. I know a Dj makes mixes of different types of music, but cmon, Slipknot?!??

It kinda just seems like they just threw pop and oldschool together to try and please the masses. Some house would be great as well.

dunno about everyone else arguin about metal songs and **** but i agree heavy songs are for guitar hero keep the good songs in dj hero and again dunno bout everyone else but i liked it when the game had mixed old songs such as marvin gaye with gorillaz i thought that was clever more like that would be good
