well as being an european(the netherlands)and since we have a solid dance base over here with a broad selection of genres i’d like to say artists instead of songs.
underworld(born slippy)is a must be, ellen alien, miss kitten, daft punk(confirmed i read?), felix the housecat, kraftwerk. these and more would definitely make a good selection for mainstream gamers without being too harsh or freaky to hear…
wich i’d prefer to see on the more harder dancesongs are altern8(oldskool ^^) venetian snares and alike, autechre, angerfist, aphrodite, roni size, dillinja, goto 80. but most of these probably won’t make it. except for maybe roni size, if there will be the genre drum and bass…i think it should be since there’s a lot of djing in drum’n'bass and it’s still a massive genre in the u.k.(dubstep taking a bit over)
anyway, depending on wich songs will be in the final version i’m buying or not.if it’s just mainstream songs i’m not buying the game…

Some tracks by The Prodigy would make sense and be awesome….they just released the biggest electronic album of the decade “Invaders Must Die” and it would help boost sales of the game, especially in Britain where they are massive (5 straight number 1 albums). honestly, for this game to be really successfull (because when i heard about this i thought, “cool, we’ll be able to mix some good trance”) there should be no such thing as a setlist. I think you should be able to upload songs onto the game from your console. then the game just reads the songs, and mixes them to the best of its ability. kinda the same concept as “audiosurf”, but well, it would be difficult, but im sure its possible. if that solution doesnt work, then there should most definetaly be a techno/elektro/trance version of dj hero.

I totally agree with “blah’s” comment. This game should have more house, trance, hardstyle, drum & bass, psychedelic trance, etc.
I admit they have to include mainstream songs to have more people buying their product, but they shouldn’t base the WHOLE game into pure mainstream songs.
As a HUGE electronic music fan, I am very disappointed that DJ Hero left us, the true electronic music fans, out of the picture. So, I’m gonna hold my desire to put my hands on that turntable and just wait until they make a trance package (a Paul Van Dyk one or at least something that is more like electronic music) just like Guitar Hero has the Beatles and Metallica one.

Activision needs to make seperate game titles for DJ Hero like New School Hip-Hop/R&B ,Old School Hip-Hop/R&B, House/Techno and release the current setlist on CD for purchase. They should do track packs in different styles, we have the david guetta pack, which has 2 very popular mixes/songs in them. Maybe they could look into the dance scene in different countries, I’m from the netherlands myself and here Hardcore and Hardstyle are very popular. Maybe they can do something by artists like Tatanka, Headhunterz, Technoboy, and D-block & S-te-fan (Youtube search does miracles!)
But i’m sure there are much more popular styles in the other countries/territories… Just hope they will do a harder styles pack, or even a complete DJ Hero: Hardstyle edition.

Definitely needs a lot more trance – when I think “DJ”, immediately thoughts of Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Dave Pearce, Airbase, Vincent De Moor, Signum, Paul Van Dyk, Sash! and Matt Darey come to mind. I could go on forever here, but to keep it brief, DJ HERO will need to seriously grow their available Trance tracks before I’d feel ready to buy it.
I just played it, yes the tracks on this game are kinda a disappointment, but they cannot please everyone. it still is pretty cool.
But I really do think that if its called DJ hero, it should have more ACTUAL DJ CULTURE IN IT. Drum n bass, DUBSTEP would be sick (plenty of remixes “mainstreamers” would recognize).Oldschool hip hop, rap, house, breaks, trance, turntablism.
Later make a version where you could upload your own songs. I love rock, buuuut ROCK ALREADY HAS A GAME, rock should stay out of DJ hero.
and yes Drum and Bass or turntablism would be on the expert level without a doubt.

How about more of a blend of hip-hop and dance/techno? Wiz Khalifa made a killer hit in “Say Yeah.” Why not get some Darude – Sandstorm crossed with a Kanye or Lil Wayne song? Pjanoo is a good versatile dance track too, I wouldn’t complain if I got more of that, too.
Would love to see some Trance/rave/hardstyle, even some house.

The tracklist should be a MIX. Like dertoit house, hip hop, old skool hiphop & r&b, dance/techno. Not just sticking to one specific genre. That is what a DJ does, he mixes. If u want top 40 turn on the radio. Wayne, Lady GaGa, Beyonce etc are played enough on the radio, we dont need to hear them on a game too.
